“The absolute forgiveness of our sins is just as rock solid as the historic reality of Christ’s death. It is important we grasp this wonderful truth of the Gospel becase we can face our ‘respectable sins’ when we know they have been forgiven.” Jerry Bridges, Respectable Sins
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word; I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son; Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight; Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower: Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise, Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart, High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of Heaven, my victory won, May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
All of Grace by C. H. Spurgeon-The doctrine of the atonement is to my mind one of the surest proofs of the divine inspiration of Holy Scripture. Who would or could have thought of the just Ruler dying for the unjust rebel? This is no teaching of human mythology or dream of poetical imagination. This method of expiation is only known among men because it is a fact; fiction could not have devised it. God Himself ordained it; it is not a matter which could have been imagined.
Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees”; for she said, “Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?” Gen. 16:13
In our darkest moments, we are so blinded by despair that we dont even notice that we are not alone. God in His mercy stoops down, brushes your cheek and wipes the tears from your eyes. Take comfort Christian, He is near and He sees.
I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.-Exodus 19:4
God has chosen a people, a remnant for His own possession. Are you living for yourself or for God? Remember who you are…But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1Peter 2:9
