A Home for the Word

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…Colossians 3:16 ESV

Has God’s Word found a home in you? We know we are not to be mere hearers of the Word but doers. Application is probaby something all Christians struggle with. While your pastor rightly divides the Word and makes it clear to you, look to the Spirit to apply the sermons you hear. “Only the Holy Spirit—the divine Author of Scripture and the One who knows each and every human heart—is able to take His Word and bring true conviction and lasting change to individual hearts in specific situations.”

3 Tips to Application

1)Training. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.1Cor.926 Train yourself to
listen attentively, don’t allow a sermon to be background noise. When you read your Bible, make
sure you are in a quiet comfortable place. And whatever you do, don’t rush through the text. Take
your time and expect to hear from God.
2)Accountability. Understand the importance of applying Scripture and your responsibility with what
you hear/read.
3) Pray. Seek the Lord for understanding and wisdom in applying Scripture.

TAP into the rich stream of  God’s grace through His Word!
