Immanuel, God With Us

It’s so easy to get carried away with all the ‘stuff’ that surrounds Christmas, isn’t it. I love watching the Charlie Brown Christmas special as much as the next guy. Since I’m a native Chicagoan, my earliest childhood memories are of going downtown and looking at the Christmas displays in the store front windows. It was an awesome and magical time of year. I also run to Starbucks to get my egg nog latte. But just what are we celebrating anyway? John MacArthur from Grace Church has two really good messages that helped me to focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

I hope we’re all able to get past all the nonsensical activity that occurs around this time of year. Make much of Christ; He makes much of you.

Matthew 1:21–“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
