I Am the Bread of Life

Today was an awesome day in the Lord; the food drive for St. Mary’s Food Bank was today. Seeing all the large boxes of food reminded me of Jesus feeding the multitudes.

Matt. 14:19-21 says, “Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

I’ve been reflecting on the fact that Jesus meets all of our needs, physical, relational, emotional and most importantly spiritual. He is the living bread who came down from heaven John 6:51. He gives living water and whoever drinks of the water that He gives will never be thirsty again John 4:14. I pray that the families who received the donations are blessed by the gift, but may they come to know the gift of grace offered in Christ. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
